HISTORY OF LATIN AMERICAN ART. INTERACTIVE LECTURES AND DISCUSSIONS

Are you an art lover looking to expand your knowledge? Want to learn about Latin America and don't know where to start? Or are you seeking fresh inspiration for your creative work?
With this course, you will achieve these goals, as well as become the most interesting person in the room.

This course offers an overview of Latin American art history, from Pre-Hispanic to Contemporary Art. Through the discussion of Latin American art movements and works of art, we will enter into the imaginary of its people - mythologies, symbols and collective experiences.

The sessions will be run with a communicative approach, giving space to personal interpretations based on previous knowledge, intuition and creativity. The final training in "the art of seeing" will be a visit to the Berardo Museum, where we'll perform a collective reading of modern Latin American pieces.
Main Questions for the Course
What feelings of a certain generation are reflected in its artistic production?
Which symbols and myths are shared among Latin American artists?
What is the impact of the mixing of peoples and cultures on Latin American arts?
Does Latin American art have its own identity?
