Meet your tutor
Sophia Welsh
Abstract painting tutor
Sophia Vigne Welsh is a visual artist from Ireland, currently based in Lisbon. She graduated from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin in 2016 with a first class honors degree in Fine Art Media and since then has been making and exhibiting work in Los Angeles, Spain and Ireland.

Through painting, drawing and collage Sophia creates a multi-layered abstract language with which she processes her daily emotions and experiences. The resulting works aim to explore bodily tension and how it can shape our navigation of relationships and environments.

Sophia works with a wide range of materials to create vibrant, emotionally driven pieces with a punchy yet delicate aesthetic.
